What's On

The celebrations will be happening in rain, snow or shine and we’re prepared for all weather conditions with indoor ticketed areas and free outdoor programming. Revellers are strongly advised to take public transit to reach the celebrations in downtown Vancouver. We’re looking forward to a family-friendly, safe and fun celebration tonight!

Free Waterfront Festival at 6:30 PM

Situated along Canada Place Way from Howe Street to Thurlow Street at Burrard Landing, Concord's New Year’s Eve Vancouver on December 31, 2016 is downtown Vancouver’s only waterfront celebration to ring in 2017.

It features free live musical entertainment, sponsor exhibitions, over 20 food trucks, live on-site broadcasts, a Family Fireworks display for families with young children, and a Midnight Countdown with spectacular fireworks over Coal Harbour.

Last year’s inaugural event attracted over 80,000 people, making it Canada’s largest New Year’s Eve event in terms of attendance.

This year's free event, kicking off at 6:30 pm until 12:10 am, is officially part of the federal government's Canada 150 festivities celebrating the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation.

Two fireworks shows, one spectacular night

9 PM family fireworks

If you have young children who sleep early, celebrating New Year's Eve at midnight can be challenging. Coinciding with the East Coast's midnight countdown, the Family Fireworks at Concord's New Year's Eve Vancouver allows families with kids to enjoy and embrace the NYE events and atmosphere.

Family Fireworks consists of a countdown at 9 pm from the stages and concludes with a 5-minute-long burst of fireworks from the offshore barge.

Midnight Fireworks

Vancouver will welcome 2017 in spectacular fashion with a high-aerial fireworks display, synchronized to music, launched from a barge in the middle of Coal Harbour. The pyrotechnic display begins at the stroke of midnight and lasts for approximately 10 minutes.

Premium fireworks viewing experiences

Four different ticketed experiences for a more optimal and comfortable viewing experience to both the 9 pm and midnight fireworks are being offered to revelers this New Year's Eve.

The RE/MAX Family Zone is located at the Canada Place pier and consists of an indoor activity area with family-friendly entertainment ranging from face painters to arcade games.

There is also an Outdoor Fireworks Viewing Zone along the north-facing seawall of the West Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre that provides the best and most direct 'front row' view of the fireworks.

Inside the West Ballrooms of the Vancouver Convention Centre's West Building, TRUE NORTH and TRUE NORTH VIP offers the city's biggest and best indoor party experience packed with concerts, DJs, and complimentary snacks along with both indoor and outdoor fireworks viewing options.
